It seems that we are always told to never have regrets in life and many people often say they have no regrets because what was in the past will remain in the past. I am one of these people. When asked if I have any regrets, I always tell people, I love how things turned out, if I were to live the past, I’d react the same way during those circumstances and although there were some instances I would gladly do over again, I have no regrets. Actually, I think that is not true. There are some missed opportunities from my past that I should have taken but were too chicken to take it, and I completely regret those missed opportunities. But since I can’t relive the past and retake those opportunities, I can only work on the future. So to that, I encourage everyone to forget the past, but instead to not regret their future. When faced with different circumstances and opportunites in the future, just take a tiny step back and ask yourself, what will you lose if you just let down your guard and pursue it. I think you will see that you will lose minimal and gain a lot. I mentioned on my website that sometimes having goals and plans for the future is limiting because it keeps you from pursuing things outside your planned goal…but, if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there. So, if something unexpected comes along, don’t be afraid to pursue it.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I just wanna tell everyone THANKS for being there for me…to all my family, BLs, dater, friends (from old ones to ones I haven’t seen/talk to in a while to the new ones who have recently entered my life)…I could not be the person I am without any of you….so THANK YOU!!!! and I love you guys!!!!
Since I got a couple of complaints about not having a blog entry in a while and I’m not in the mood to make up an entry…I’ll just post my 7 habits mission statement:
To live, to love, to learn, and to leave a legacy.
The key roles that I play in my everyday life are:
1. Family Member
2. Friend
3. Student
4. Employee
5. Community Member
6. Financial Manager
In the above key roles, I live whole-heartedly with the following purpose:
-To build healthy, loving relationships in which all of us can become our very best
-To appreciate everything given to us in life and to never take any of it for granted
-To promote learning and growth and keep a positive attitude in all the different good and bad experiences all of us go through
-To remember, to understand, and to keep an open mind that all of us operate on different paradigms, never holding that against anyone, and to encourage all of us to do the same, but to also practice open communications and share our paradigms whenever we feel a need to
-To treasure all of our memories from the past, to encourage all of us to live the fullest in the present, and to prepare all of us financially and emotionally for a better future
(Any reference to “all of us” signifies everyone, including myself, who are affected by the different roles I play.)
First and foremost…November 2nd is Election Day. If you are registered to vote, GO VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are entitled to your opinions…
