This Past Week, Among Other Things

Filed under: Uncategorized — anny @ 4:03 pm

I need to write this down, so I will actually follow through with it:
-I need to wake up earlier each day for work!!!
-I need to stop driving to work!!
-I need to stop parking at the garage in my building at work!!!
I think everything’s dependent on the first one…I gotta wake up earlier…

Last Saturday, I went boarding with Pam and Wendy at Boreal…Let me say, it was FUN FUN FUN!!!! It was my first trip of the season and after going, I wanna go again next weekend, so Pam and I, with possibly Son, will be going. (However, I hafta say, I am never doing any jumps, especially after what happened to Henry: www.xanga.com/htyped) Saturday night, Cindy and I went to Tracy’s house for a sleepover. Sunday, I wasn’t feeling very well, so I slept and went grocery shopping and cooked myself chicken soup.

Monday - Work, VDay dinner with friends at Gordon Biersch in Palo Alto
Tuesday - Work, Business of Film class at night, watched the night’s Idol taped
Wednesday - Took the day off, went to watch Tracy get married, Marketing class at night, watched the night’s Idol taped
Thursday - Work
Friday - Work, went to watch Hitch, Dinner at Anju and watched Robert’s band, Butchberry, play…the food and sangria were YUMMY!!!

If you haven’t watched Hitch yet, go watch it!!!! It is soooooooooooooo good!!! I loved it!!!! A definite addition to my dvd collection when it comes out. I think after watching that movie, I might just finally be inspired to write my dating horror stories, but T said something to me last night. She overheard someone saying that his current dating situation makes him regret letting go of the past girls he dated that were actually good. She was thinking he might have been referring to me. But I was thinking, even if he wasn’t referring to me, he should be regretting. (But no worries, this guy wasn’t part of my horror dating story. I had to eventually stop picking up his phone calls tho because I couldn’t continue what we had even if I wanted to…)

Cindy and I are gonna go visit Mr. Dufus Chung in Sactown Kaiser tonight finally. We’ve been trying to this whole week, but considering my crazy schedule and Cindy’s having to work until midnight everyday…it was kinda impossible.

My Big Mouth

Filed under: Uncategorized — anny @ 11:31 pm

So, I asked my twin tonight why she hasn’t updated her blog in a while…and this is what she posts:
Nicholle’s Blog
I had to open my big mouth…

Pic of my twin and me in Vegas for her 21st bday…yes, she is only 21…

So, you might be thinking, she’s white, I’m asian, how can we be twins? I ask myself that same question all the time and well…
-We were both huge fans of NKOTB…I think that did it for us and we were twins ever since we found that out…
-We both love attention…and tons of it too…
-People have told us that we can basically pull anything off…like going in front of a meeting with 150 people unprepared but seem to have everything in control
-We talk tons of crap…especially when we’re pissed…don’t get in our way…especially when we’re walking through the streets of SF during rush hour traffic…
-We both pretend to be shy…but everybody knows how loud and talkative we are…however, during first impressions when we don’t know anybody, we tend to be quiet…
-We both hate Frank

Thank Gawd I’m Californian

Filed under: Uncategorized — anny @ 11:18 am

My week was crazy again…besides my daytime job, I had work on Tuesday night, class on Wednesday night…then Thursday morning I woke up at 4:30am to make a 6:50am flight to Texas…here’s a quick recap of my trip:

Thursday (woke up at 4:30am PST) - Flew to Albuquerque, NM; Flew to El Paso, TX; Flew to Midland, TX; Picked up my rental car; Drove to 2 places in Midland; Drove to Big Springs; Drove to Odessa; Drove back to Midland; Went to sleep at 9:00pm PST

Friday (woke up at 3:30am PST) - Flew to Austin; Picked up my rental car; Drove to 2 places in Austin; Drove to 2 places in San Antonio; Flew to Las Vegas, NV; Flew to Ontario, CA; Flew home to Oakland; Went to eat at Katana-ya with Henry and Cindy; Konked out at 11pm.

7 flights, 10 cities, 3 states, 36 hours later…I must say, I LOVE BEING A CALIFORNIAN!!!!!! I’m such a Cali Girl and I can’t deny it. The overall trip was fun because I had to look for 8 locations and it was a treasure hunt (like in National Treasure or in Da Vinci Code)….but….

Here are some reasons NOT to move to Midland:
-Their roads aren’t even mapped on Yahoo, Mapquest, Microsoft streets and maps…not to mention they don’t have cars with GPS systems.
-All their roads have multiple names and some of their roads have the same name. So there’s 2 highway I-20, and one of the I-20 is also named I-80 and my hotel was on Old Country Road South, but you couldn’t find it anywhere on the map, and I found out it actually had a different name…
-Their highways and streets are not lit. (Don’t go there at night.)
-Their airport only has 5 gates; the flight attendants who flew me into the town were the same ones who flew me out the next day and the two of them both remembered me.
-There’s absolutely NOTHING around, meaning no tall buildings, the ground is barren, and I didn’t see any Starbucks.
-It was over for me when I saw a billboard that says: “Home of Presidents” with a picture of the two shrubs…then one minute later, as if you already forgot, they have to remind you with another billboard: “Midland: Hometown of George W. and Laura Bush” - no picture this time
-People there still call Asians “Orientals”…and there’s no Asians there at all…and everyone there talks with an accent and I had to repeat myself ALL the time because they couldn’t understand me.
-When I was eating at Chili’s, this guy was staring into this glass and the waitress walks by. He asks the waitress, where is that jersey located. The waitress says, “it’s on top of your head, the jersey you see there is a reflection off the glass.” The guys says, “Oh okay, and here I thought the jersey was written backwards.” (YES, these are fellow neighbors of George W.)
-Then, what upset me the most…I told the guy at Midland airport who checked me in to change my flight home from San Antonio to Oakland from 6:30 to 2:30. He said that he did it. But of course, when I arrived at San Antonio airport…guess whose flight didn’t get changed!!!!
(Austin and San Antonio were actually pretty cool. I like their freeway system but I doubt their system would ever work in Cali.)

So, having all that said, I love being Californian…we have cars everywhere, streets, buildings, Starbucks on every corner, toilet seat covers in every public bathroom, well-lit highways and streets, traffic lights with sensors…we are pretty spoiled here!!!
