A Clean Slate

Filed under: Uncategorized — anny @ 10:18 pm

I did something tonight I can’t believe I did. I have no regrets, but it’s about time I did it.

End of August

Filed under: Uncategorized — anny @ 6:48 pm

I am sitting here tonight doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and it feels great. Ever since August 10th (the day before my birthday) I have not had a break during the nighttime. It was non-stop dinners, happy hours, parents visiting, concerts, and playing sports. I am finally putting an end to my August noises by doing nothing.

But, after all this, I am very proud of myself because before summer started, I set a goal to take care of myself physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually and that is exactly what I did.

June - August:
-Physically [stretch, swim, tennis]
-Socially [facials, manicures/pedicures, massages, baths]
-Mentally [read, keep up with current news]
-Spiritually [scriptures, meditate, retreats, volunteer, yoga, read spiritual books]
-Community [volunteered for 2 Project Openhand Events]
-Go to art galleries around Union Square [SF Black and White Gallery, Martin Lawrence ]
-Asian Art Museum for Tibet Exhibit
-Festivals [API Heritage Month, Carnaval, Fillmore Jazz]
-Watch a movie by myself [March of the Penguins]

Darn PG&E

Filed under: Uncategorized — anny @ 11:01 pm

So, not even halfway through the BSB concert, guess what happens…a PG&E transformer blew and knocked out half the city of Concord, including the concert…What’s up with me and PG&E transformers?

W.I.G. Extension; Addictions; Annual Physical; Embarrassments; AIM Deficiency

Filed under: Uncategorized — anny @ 10:49 am

Whoo hoo!!! I got a W.I.G. extension to Sunday!! :)

Addictions…just to name a few: watching RomComs over and over again and tea (good thing I gave up ciggies a long while ago)…and…my most recent addiction: Laguna Beach: The Real OC on MTV. I have no idea why I like it so much but there’s just so much drama on that show that it’s funny to watch. I actually found out that three other people I know were addicted to the show: Cerena, Kristen, and Musetta (hopefully they won’t mind that I mention their names…ha ha haha…) I am not alone!

Annual Physical…I took the day off to go see my doc for an annual…my doc is still in the East Bay so I thought I might as well take the day off…

Embarrassments…I don’t know if I should be telling people this, but I am going to the Backstreet Boys concert tonight…don’t laugh!!!

AIM Deficiency…WF blocks Hotmail, Yahoo mail (I’m surprised they haven’t gotten to Gmail or my Hello Kitty email yet) and all IMs (AIM, Yahoo, MSN)…and just having the day off makes me feel so AIM deficient because EVERYONE is online during the daytime :(
WF did recently allow us to have AIM, but it has to be a version that is speficially built by WF, plus I would need to get my manager’s permission to download and they assign me a screenname…too much of a hassle for me…

Stubborn!!

I know I am the world’s most stubborn person. I think a lot of people can attest to that. BUT, I think I am about to be out-stubborned!!!!!! You should know who you are!!! I can’t believe you’re making me do this!!!!! ARGH!!!!! Let’s just hope I don’t fall flat on my face. Damn 7 Habits and W.I.G.s…not wigs as in what I was wearing last week, but W.I.G.s as in Wildly Important Goals.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make Me a Match

Filed under: Uncategorized — anny @ 11:11 pm

You know, it was funny after reading baobao’s blog, b/c I was thinking about matchmaking today too. See, great minds still think alike (but girl, weren’t you going to stop the matchmaking business?)

What was I thinking about?
1. It was this time last year that I matchmade niece and didi, and I’m itching to do it again.
2. I actually have my eyes set on my next two victims. They don’t know yet, but I’m slowly contemplating how I am going to approach it. It’s gonna be work in progress.
3. I think I’m like the worst person to be matchmade. Despite my plea in my SATB #4 entry about my not wanting to be set up again, people are still trying to do it to me with or without my knowledge. *cough*
4. I should have made the bet of celibacy with kp this year!!!
Cindy and I were talking last night and this is how the conversation went:
C: I haven’t gone out on a date in a while. When’s the last time you went out on a date?
A: I think last November, so it’s been…8 months.
C: I think I beat you by 6 months, my last time was…May 2004.
A: I guess I don’t feel so bad anymore.
5. Then, I was thinking about one of my favorite musicals, “Fiddler on the Roof.” I would love to see it again if it ever comes into town. The musical is about a family in Russia with deep-rooted traditions and about a father with three daughters who break those traditions. One of the traditions is having a matchmaker make the match before you can be with a guy, and of course, there’s a song associated with it:
Hodel:
Well, somebody has to arrange the matches,
Young people can’t decide these things themselves.
Chava:
She might bring someone wonderful—-
Hodel:
Someone interesting—-
Chava:
And well off—-
Hodel:
And important—
Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Make me a match,
Find me a find,
catch me a catch
Matchmaker, Matchmaker
Look through your book,
And make me a perfect match
Chava:
Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
I’ll bring the veil,
You bring the groom,
Slender and pale.
Bring me a ring for I’m longing to be,
The envy of all I see.
Hodel:
For Papa,
Make him a scholar.
Chava:
For mama,
Make him rich as a king.
Chava and Hodel:
For me, well,
I wouldn’t holler
If he were as handsome as anything.
Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Make me a match,
Find me a find,
Catch me a catch,
Night after night in the dark I’m alone
So find me match,
Of my own.
(spoken)
Tzeitel:
Since when are you in a match, Chava? I thought you had your eye on your books.
(Hodel chuckles)
Tzeitel con’t:
And you have your eye on the Rabbi’s son.
Hodel:
Well, why not?
We have only one Rabbi and he has only one son.
Why shouldn’t I want the best?
Tzeitel:
Because you’re a girl from a poor family.
So whatever Yenta brings, you’ll take, right?
Of course right!
(throws scarf over her head, imitating Yenta)
(singing)
Hodel, oh Hodel,
Have I made a match for you!
He’s handsome, he’s young!
Alright, he’s 62.
But he’s a nice man, a good catch, true?
True.
I promise you’ll be happy,
And even if you’re not,
There’s more to life than that—
Don’t ask me what.
Chava, I found him.
Won’t you be a lucky bride!
He’s handsome, he’s tall,
That is from side to side.
But he’s a nice man, a good catch, right?
Right.
You heard he has a temper.
He’ll beat you every night,
But only when he’s sober,
So you’ll alright.
Did you think you’d get a prince?
Well I do the best I can.
With no dowry, no money, no family background
Be glad you got a man!
Chava:
Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
You know that I’m
Still very young.
Please, take your time.
Hodel:
Up to this minute,
I misunderstood
That I could get stuck for good.
Chava and Hodel:
Dear Yenta,
See that he’s gentle
Remember,
You were also a bride.
It’s not that
I’m sentimental
Chava and Hodel and Tzeitel:
It’s just that I’m terrified!
Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Plan me no plans
I’m in no rush
Maybe I’ve learned
Playing with matches
A girl can get burned
So,
Bring me no ring
Groom me no groom
Find me no find
Catch me no catch
Unless he’s a matchless match.
6. Okay, maybe I shouldn’t be a hypocrite. If I don’t let others matchmake me, I shouldn’t go matchmake others…but I still have to try it with my next two victims. I’ll keep you guys updated. ;)

I give up!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — anny @ 8:30 am

I officially give up! I hate playing games, especially one that doesn’t even have an ending. I am pulling myself out and refusing to play.
